Default Bloomingfield Indiana?

So what is Bloomingfield like? Its a small town, too small? Schools, recreation, medical facilities, shopping---any of that? It looks like one big farm to me, we have the potential of relocation..............great job, but a place to raise kids?

Would like to hear opinions, please!

So, anyone here from Bloomfield? What's it like? It appears to be quite a small town, pros and cons of living there, please!

It is a very small town with the typical pros and cons of most small towns.

Several different school districts serve towns in Greene County where Bloomfield is located. Eastern Greene is one; Bloomfield is another. I don't really know much about either except that Eastern Greene opened a new high school/middle school last year.

Having driven through Bloomfield a number of times I know shopping options are minimal. There is a Super Walmart in Linton (west of Bloomfield). I suspect that many people in Bloomfield come over to Bloomington for larger shopping trips. It's about 20-45 minutes away depending upon where you live.

You don't mention where the job is at. I know many people that work in Greene County, particularly out at the Crane Naval facility, live in Bloomington. A few of my Monroe County neighbors work there. It's about 30 minutes from our neighborhood.

Cost of living questions are hard to answer without some basis for comparison. I suspect overall costs are lower in Greene County compared to Monroe, but I often wonder if that's offset by the need to travel for shopping and entertainment.
