You can't get to First Ave via the Lloyd anymore. As part of the Lloyd Expwy-Fulton Ave interchange project; direct access from the Lloyd is cut off.

Actually, if you are heading west on the Lloyd from 41 you still might be able to make the right turn north onto First Ave. Someone who frequents the area more often than I do could clear that up. I am pretty sure though that making the right turn onto First Ave is forbidden.

In any event; I would probably just take 41 to Diamond.

If I'm not mistaken, both directions are now fully open on Diamond from 41 to 1st Ave. There might still be some orange barrels out, but you can travel easily enough on Diamond now.

I think you can still turn R at the 1st Ave. exit, but I was down at the Fulton/Lloyd mess yesterday, and it's not fun if you get turned around.

Hope you have safe travels!

I would think so. If you want to be completely safe, you could always just turn left from 41 onto Virginia Ave and take that to First. It is not a fast; but you would be avoiding the construction.

I agree with DC. Diamond would be my #1 choice. Then it would be Virginia or Columbia.

We used to take Columbia to church from 41 to 1st Ave. every Sunday, and I remember the stop, start, stop, starts, and thinking of how it always looked like Christmas down the road because of all the red-to-green in such a short distance. Kind of a cool memory, now that I don't travel that way much anymore.
