I have a 9 month old and a ten year old. I lost my job because I didnt pass my NCLEX so I have no money. I should be worried how I am going to pay the rent but I am not. I am worried about the sad face when there is nothing for them on Christmas. I cant even buy a tree. My boyfriend works but his money is just enough for food, gas, and essentials. I thought about stealing a tree last night. I just couldnt do it. If anyone feels generous this christmas season maybe you could be generous and buy a gift for a boy 9 months or 10 years old. Even if they had one thing it would be better than nothing. I think that I am going to make a paper tree. We can put paper on the wall and draw a tree. Well, that solves the tree. I feel like such a failure. If you feel like doing this can I tell them the present was from me?

salvation army requires you to fill out paperwork in October. you also have to prove you have children with BS and SS card. I was suprised at that. Anyway, too late for such ventures.

I was hoping that the state would help me out because of lack of income. They refused my application for food stamps because I didnt have a letter from Michigan stating that I did not receive benefits. I just moved here 5 months ago. They needed so much information. Like a letter from my job in michigan stating that I didnt work there any longer. They didnt care about the job I had here, just in MIchigan.

Not sure if this option is palatable, but is there a local church you can contact?

I did not join a church after moving here. If I had been an active member in a church here in IN then that would have been a posibility. I should get involved in church again. Just because I move dosent mean I dont go anymore. My church would have paid for my electric bill that was getting shut off. I begged my ex husband for the 80 bucks and he paid me. He owes me like 35,000 in child support so I dont feel bad about 80 bucks. Appreciate the offer. It is a reminder that I would have a flock if I had made different decisions.

You walk into any Catholic Church on the planet with that story and you will recieve a Christmas Basket containing food and a few gifts for Christmas and possibly other essentials. When I used to get baskets at my church (in a small town in Michigan) I always saw people who I know didnt attend show up for a basket.

You may want to try Toys For Tots.

You can contact the local coordinator through their website - hopefully they'll be able to help you.
