Default Anyone know anything about Madison, Indiana?

Sorry to ask this on the Indianapolis board, but I didn't know where else to go. I was born, raised and lived most of my life in Northwest Indiana and Central Indiana. I've been living in Florida for about 12 years now and I feel the need to come home. I've researched a place in Madison a little bit and I keep coming back to it as I look at other areas. I did do a search on this board to see if Madison, Indiana had been discussed and didn't find anything.

The place I'm looking at is just a small home on about an acre of land out in the country. I really miss small town living.

Just curious and would appreciate any information anyone might have.

Thanks,

Robin

Madison is the perfect small town and has just about anything you would want. Beautiful homes all throughout Jefferson County. Just look at the link Domergurl posted.

Thank-you domergirl and Vision Quest! Madison looks as beautiful as I imagined. I have family across the river in Ohio and that's one of the reasons I picked Madison. I could look in their area, but I still feel like an Indiana girl (much older woman actually). I'm retired and would not need to look for work, but I do have to wait and see if the person selling the property can come down in price. They might not be asking too much, I just need to keep a certain amout to match my retirement to live on. Know what I mean? heh I feel bad, because it's like I might be taking advantage of a horrible home selling market, but I really have no choice.

We'll see. If he hasn't sold it to someone else in a couple months ( which I wouldn't mind if he got his asking price, it would be much better for him ) I might throw in the offer I can make and maybe I will be living in MADISON!

I wouldn't expect that it's as cold there as I had gotten really tired of up farther north.

Thanks again. The pictures were amazing!

Robin

Oh Gosh. I fell in love with Madison during visit #1, and have been a repeat visitor. I wish I could find a way to make a living there. Indiana really has so many little hidden gems. I love exploring Indiana. I have wonderful pictures of Madison.
