Yes and not many people are prepared for it to get worse in our state and country before it will hopefully get better.

And it doesn't help when the state system for filing and receiving unemployment is screwy:

You know I am not a gloom and doom person and I don't like to only read that type of news but............................... I want the truth. I hate it when local newspapers run stories how great their communities are doing when they have high unemployment rates. Or when there are things in the local, states and national levels that are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of line but nobody will say "freeze on spending" and time to tighten our belts.

I know we all manage our own lives as we see fit for the best for our families but to me this is not a time to be going out spending. Neither is it a time for our elected officials to be feeding us only rose water. Hope~ yes, overlooking the facts no.

Good question Domegirl.

As for jobs........uh, hubby has been unemployed for more than a year now. I can't believe at our age we are worrying about money. This sucks so bad.

Indiana and it's manufacturing base are obviously hurting in this recession. But if you look at it in terms of a comparison to those around us like Ohio, Michigan and Illinois then Indiana is doing just fantastic.
