Hopefully this summer will be better than it was last summer.
With Obama taking action and with the economic stimulus trickiling down to the states who are in turn creating jobs by having shovel ready projects receive funding and all.
Is Indiana starting to see the light?

Yes, Indiana will B OK--I hope. People need 2 remember that we are in the midst of a national or international recession. However, when compared to the surrounding states and other Midwest states, Indiana is actually doing better. The biggest problem is that the hoosier state is much to reliant on old, traditional manufacturing. I think that needs to change. As the American economy changes, so should that of Hoosierville. Indiana needs to invest in economic activities of the future: education, healthcare, high-tech manufacturing, research and developement, and logistics. Indiana needs many more high-paying jobs that offer a future, stability and a paycheck. How does Indiana expect to keep its young and educated and stop the brain drain if it refuses to modernize itself? But until that happens and until Hoosiers change their thinking and start looking to the future, Indiana will be left behind. Does Indiana wunna be like Michigan, Ohio and the like?? You choose your own destiny.

Dont believe the hype about the alleged 'stimulus.' Obama and the government will not be creating one single job. Jobs are created and dictated by the market, not the government. The government doesnt have the ability to do anything efficiently; its totally inept and has proven it cant be trusted with anything. Heck, they cant even solve their own problems. Americans need to forget about the government and start helping themselves. When did we become a society that relies on the government for everything?? SICK. Just remember, a government that is big enough to give you everything is also big enough to take it all away.

This statement is old it has taken Indiana 100s of years to build their manufacturing base. It won't be changed in 5-10-15-20 years onto a newer base sorry. Could they have been more diverse along the way? You bet but we can't do anything about should of, could of, would of now.
I would have liked to seen our governor refuse any stimulus money from the feds but that isn't going to happen. Just like all the mayors of towns all over IN with their hand out for shovel ready projects. It is nothing but tax payer welfare it makes me sick all city, county and state government won't cut spending instead.

Carbon Motors is bringing 1,300 hundred jobs to Connersville.
1,300 jobs coming to Indiana
Indiana beats almost half the states when it comes to attracting jobs according to a new study.

This is so true. The only thing the stimulus bill ever did for anyone is create more debt for all of us to have to pay in the form of higher taxes. Oh yeah, it did add a little extra on to my unemployment check, but I would much rather have a job.

We're pretty excited about Carbon Motors choosing Connersville, but a lot of the locals here are skeptical that they will be able to come up with the money to make their proposal a reality.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Also I heard that some jobs that were lost due to the slump in RV sales in Elkhart are coming back.

Read in the paper this morning that Harley Davidson is thinking about moving a production plant to Shelbyville!
