Thumbs up Forbes: West Lafayette

I read this in the paper today and thought you might be interested. Forbes magazine lists West Lafayette sixth among the nation's best educated cities with populations between 20,000 and 65,000.

The ranking is mainly because of Purdue University's scientific work, but also because the off-campus Purdue Research Park is home to numerous high-tech companies that attract a highly educated population.

The article goes on to state that West Lafayette was the highest ranked city on the list that's not in California or on the East Coast. The only other Midwestern small city ranked by Forbes was the Chicago suburb of Wilmette, IL.

Thanks, that is really a neat thing for the West Lafayette community. Too bad it doesn't get them more money for the schools.
