Relo from Vegas to Middlebury
Empty nesters relocating from Vegas to Middlebury area for employment reasons. We're looking for a quiet, low crime country type setting. Main concern is finding a house to rent that will allow 4 well trained/behaved dogs. Not a lot of current-real life info available for Middlebury...any suggestions of a competent real estate/relocation agent would be greatly appreciated.

I'm from Illinois. I don't know where Middebury is? When are you moving? My husband and I are hoping to move to Vegas this year. Good luck with your move.

Yes we have been out there about 6 times. It's just my husband and I. Our two grandkids just moved to Oceanside, Ca this past July because their Dad went back in the service. My husband and I really miss them alot. We can't afford Ca. We have been planning on moving to Vegas for almost 2 years now. Just sold our Pet Store in Sept. and put the house up for sale. How long have you been in Vegas? When are you moving? Our Son-in-Law is going overseas in Feb. We would like to be closer to our Daughter if she needs us. |

You might want to move this to the general Indiana forum if you want some better responses. Middlebury isn't really what most consider NW Indiana.

Glad you know the valley, Ca is very expensive and Vegas is an affordable alternative. Too many ppl move here for the wrong reasons and then don't understand why they're not happy/successful. We've lived in the far NW area for 3+ yrs and are hoping to move w/i the next two months. We're just not desert ppl. The housing market is in the crapper (not that it isn't all over), unemployment is at 8% and the crime rate is climbing daily. I wish you (and your SIL) well and good luck with your move....if you have other questions about Vegas....ask!
