I don't have completely up-to-date information, but a close friend of mine was a teacher at Pike HS for years, and finally left because the student violence got to be too much and too scary -- not only between students but also towards the teachers. Not to mention vandalism to her car, etc. This was once a really popular school, but many students with problems at other schools, living in less-than-desirable districts, etc. would use a false address to be able to attend Pike, which brought a lot of trouble along with it. I'm sure this happens at many other public schools around the city. Hope this helps.

Default the truth

Well, it happens to be the truth -- one perspective from my friend who worked there for 7 years, and specific to the high school. No one else had responded, so if anyone has some other information I'm sure the original poster would appeciate hearing that as well.

I am just glad I don't have a house in Pike Township which I am trying to sell. It's hard enough to find qualified interested Buyers as it is much less ones who aren't interested in education.
