gdude....I just noticed this post. Congrats. Where is MP school these days? I'm assuming you'll be doing basic at the same location as your AIT.

How about this lovely weather? 90's and humid!! Finally Summer is here (and I hope it leaves soon). It's too hot and muggy to do anything, imo.

Thanks!!

With the National Guard most likely not but since I'm a police explorer for my local police I might be able to persuade a little for my local police( I think)

Here in Southeast Hendricks county we might just might etch 90 but it doesn't look likely as it's only 76 here now.

Your right it's do "darn" hot and muggy to do anything. Hopefully it will cool off soon..I'm hosting a barbeque later around 4-5pm

Thank you!

My recruiter says I will probably be doing my basic training for MP at either Fort Leanordwood or Fort Leavenworth( both in Missouri)

Actually, Leavenworth is in Kansas, and while it's a TRADOC installation, its mission is primarily geared towards officer education. It's also more known for the military prison there. Things may have changed, however, as I was stationed there in 1992-93.

Leonard Wood (or Lost in the Woods, as it's more affectionately known) is a more likely destination.

I completed basic in the summer of 1988 at Fort McClellan, AL, which was also the MP school at the time (I was not an MP, however).

Edit: I just looked it up and, in fact, the MP school is now at Fort Leonard Wood. Enjoy!

I saw on the map that Fort Leavenworth was in Kansas but my recruiter said it was in Missouri so I just assumed that maybe it was in two parts.

Looks like I will be enjoying Fort lost in the woods!..lol

After I do my time and go through college I want to be a Trooper for the Indiana State Police.

It's on the Kansas side of the Missouri River. If you have a really good arm, you may be able to throw a rock into Mizzou.

Anybody know a Linkmeyer in the Aurora area? I happened upon an old book, A Tale of Two Cities, and the inside of the cover had written on it: Marian Linkmeyer A.H.S. 1923 (Aurora High School, I presume), and the next page had John Linkmeyer 1927. The book was published in 1923 and the book looks every bit as old; it's not in great shape.

I just thought it was cool.
