I didn't venture out today but it was snowing most of the day here. Never covered our road or steps. Visability was low most of the day as well here from looking out the windows. Heard a lot of fender benders on the local radio station though.
I am just thankful through what storms we have had this winter we aren't having major power outages.

I know!! Kentucky still has more than 200K without power. They also called up their entire National Guard.

Today was a nightmare. Saw 3 accidents in the space of 4 miles, and the normal trip from home to hubby's work and back took well over twice it's usual time.
Schools are on a 2 hour delay tomorrow, guess they got enough complaints about not delaying today despite the city not plowing til well after daylight

Several of the schools in my area were on a 2 hr delay today also after our major storm (a dusting to 2 inches) plus the temp got down to 30 deg. The weather was nearly as bad as it was Jan 20 when we received 2-5 inches and temps in the teens. That shut down the schools for 2-3 days. Sorry this is probably not funny with the conditions there.
I do hope you feel better soon though and remember spring is just around the corner.

domergurl I hope you feel better soon.
I guess our schools told our kids yesterday unless we get mega snow there would be no more cancelled days. If the temps were in the single digits or low teens to bundle up they would not be delaying unless there is fog. They are now going on built in snow days if they miss any more school they will be going past graduation.
Quite honestly we had more snow when I was growing up and less missed days of school than what my kids seem to have now days. I am a parent that doesn't mind my kids being home so I like it when they are cancelled. My kids don't they would rather be in school with their friends.

I know it has been 30-40 years since school but while growing up and attending schools in Greene twsp and North Liberty near South Bend I don't remember missing many school days for weather either. What I do remember is if the busses could get to your house you were expected to be there waiting for it no matter how late it was getting there. And more times than I would like to remember we sometimes had to push the bus to get it rolling again if it parked to long in one spot and even hopping off the bus without it coming to a complete stop so it would not get stuck. Some times only certain schools would close not the entire district, it all depended on the individual principals.
I know times have changed and safety for the children are supposed to be the foremost concern but jeez if you live in the snow belt add more than 1-2 snow days to the calender. Better to have a shorter school year if you don't use them than to have school on sat or extend the year unexpectedly
