Default Relocating to South Bend / Mishawaka / Granger

I am looking at relocating to the South Bend / Granger / Mishawaka Area and need some advice on apartments for the temporary living segment before we buy a house. The apartment will be for a middle aged professional looking at non student locations. Any advice on this subject matter will be tremendously appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Notre Dame/St Marys is so small and so many students live on campus that is not a worry as they only take up about 3 or 4 well known complexes. There are a few IUSB kids scattered around but they mostly live with family.

Main Street Village Apartments | The Sterling Group

That's where I'd live. Had a friend that lived there. Feels country yet 5 minutes from the only real shopping area in the South Bend/Mishawaka/Granger metro area, which is the UP Mall and Grape Road. 15 minutes to downtown south bend, although there is no good freeway route if you are used to a larger city. Extremely safe and well priced, with a sweet pool.
