He was always tired and not doing well in school, and once he was sleeping with us he has improved dramatically. Now there are numerous stories, and anyone that is interested, I would be glad to write on here if you want. Well my wife says she has never felt comfortable here, and so we are building a new home as we speak. This home never even had to go on the market, as when the original family found out that we where selling the home they immediatly wanted to buy it, to get it back in the family, as they are the main family in this area, and our house was the original old farm house. So the lady and her husband come to see the house before closing and the first thing she says to me is, so is it really haunted or not, I am like, uh, definatly, so she proceeds to tell us about how her aunt died at the age of three in this house, and was never really told how, and back then funerals where at home, so her casket sat in the foyer, and then the lady's sister died at 3 days old and her funeral was here, also in the foyer and she said when they where kids they used to see stuff and here uncle who was the builders son, had told here that ya there is always someone going up and down the stairs and walking up and down the hallway upstairs. I never got around to having ghost hunters here, but I wish I would have. I'm sure they would have found stuff, but now we don't own the house and I know by the way the new owners talked they would never let it be done.

That is quite a story! Sorry you had to go through that and aren't you a little peeved at the family for not telling you to begin with? Why were they so willing to see if they were so eager to get the house back in the family?

We kinda thought that the activity might subside a little after selling, but now has actually increased, We have both heard russelling around in other rooms and I have seen more stuff just out of peripheral vision too. Let me take a few steps back and get into this story;
We lived here about 2 months, we where sitting on the couch watching TV when we both clearly heard foot steps come down the stairs each step in unisen to the bottom. We both looked at each other like, did you? So that was the very first thing. Then we really didn't put much thought into it, I was in the process of fixing up the front bedroom upstairs for a nursery, as my wife was due in Sept. One night while home alone, I was running some new Duct work in the front bedroom's walk in closet, and a feeling came over me that was unmistakably chilling. I tried to dismiss it and keep doing what I was doing, but it came over me again even stronger. It bothered me so much that I went down stairs, turned on all the lights and even called my mother in-law just to talk to someone until my wife got home. Then, didn't notice anything else until my son was about 6 months old, he was actually good about sleeping through the night after about 2 months, on occasion he would wake up in the night. This one night at about 8 months, he woke up crying and you know that hurt cry, parents know what I am talking about, anyway this was what I heard, I went in expecting to find him stuck in the rails of climbed out of the baby bed, but instead he is dead staring at the Teddy bear through that my wife had hanging on the wall as decaration. I said what happened and he just pointed at it and sobbed, I took it down and he calmed down and acted fine. Then on occasion as my son began to walk and talk a little more, we fixed up and moved him into the other side bedroom upstairs and put him in a regular bed. Now I don't remember much little stuff from back then, except I remember my son talking about his other grandma and one night my wife was nealt down next to my sons bed and reading him a story and she saw a man walk by travis' door down the hall, she said she first thought it was me and said she stopped and thought he's not home yet so she got up and looked to make sure some stranger was not in our house, and of course there was no one there. She is not affraid of spirits, so she has no trouble looking for them, and not caring if they are there, I on the other hand get a little edgy about it. Well she told me about that and we went through the deal with night mares and moved him to our bed and then we found out from our neighbors who are next door and in there 70's that the old woman that originally lived in our house used to stand in the window across the street wanting to come home. So we obviously think she has, well over time we have figured out that basically we would tend to see things or notice things whenever we did something big, like paint a room or change carpeting.

Well we let my wifes brother stay with us about a year and we had made the front bedroom into his and he always said he could not sleep good in there, nightmares, any way he almost always slept on the couch for this reason. One day he was getting ready for work, he was home alone because he worked nights, anyway, he had taken a shower and left his glasses layed out on his bed with his clothes to put on after his shower, so he goes upstairs, puts his clothes on and no glasses so he looks all around, un makes his bed thinking maybe he had laid them down before making it, he re makes it, goes down stairs and looks around and can't find them goes up stairs and there they lay right in the middle of the bed open like someone had just took them off. Kinda freeked him out for a while and we have also noticed things disapear, like my wedding ring disapeared about the same time that my wife saw the man in the hall, and has never returned, and other things have disapeared and reappeared in obvious places later that day or maybe the next day. After he moved out, we turned that front bedroom into the computer room and one day I had watched a show on TV about digitally recording ghosts, so I got it in my head to set my digital audio recorder on the banester at the landing at the bottom of our stairs, about 9 am you hear a loud bang and clanging, well that afternoon, I came home to the picture at the bottom of the landing that said"God Bless this Home", knocked off the wall and all of the stuff on the shelf below it had been knocked off, now I wouldn't have thought much of it, except for a couple of things, 1: the picture was hung on three screws to keep it level 2: The glass bears on each end of the shelf where laying together on the same step and every thing seemed to go to the right, and 3: it just happed to happen on the day I left the audio recorder hooked up not 3 feet from that picture and shelf! Then 3 years ago my stepfather died of brain cancer and my sister who definatly is psychic, had made up his picture in an 8x10 frame and had a poem with it that was called "Merry Christmas from Heaven", and we had it on top the corner hutch in the foyer where we always put our tree, and do you know, about 10 in the morning after opening presents and we where in the living room we heard a bang and do you know that picture was laying almost under the tree face up and not broken from atop a 6 foot corner cabinet and about 4 feet away. Explain that. Now um, about 4 months ago I was in the computer room upstairs and it was morning before I was to take my son to school, I was on the computer, and I had the center window top pulled down about an inch, no other doors or windows open in the house, now the front bedroom door squeeks sometimes, well I hear it creak and I look and see the window is down a little and I don't think anything of it and keep on working on the computer, then it starts to creak again and I stop and stare at it and it moves back and forth about an inch in a continous not stopping motion about 4 or 5 times. I am like what the, and I blink and see the outline of a hand, very translucent, about 6 inches from the door knob, I wipe my face and get up and head down stairs and my son tells me as soon as I come down the stairs that there is someone on the back stairs in a white coat, I obviously don't see anything and tell him it is time to go to school and we leave. I have to go for now, I will write more later.

Congratulations on the new house! I am sure that the "spirits" in the old house will miss you, as they tend to miss those people who can see them and are aware and unafraid--Which probably explains the increase in activity. I have been a "reluctant medium" for as long as I can remember and my youngest son also has the ability to see and talk with those who have passed. After taking some classes with some experienced mediums (Sylvia Browne, John Holland, John Edward) I am more comfortable with my ability and more in control. I know that I am in control and not the energy of the one's who have passed. I have been able to pass this on to my son and you may want to find some way to explain this to your son. Whether he will continue to "see dead people" as the old 6th Sense cliche goes, remains to be seen. If he is scared or if you are scared when you sense or percieve an energy around you, say "You are scaring me. Go to your highest and best use." If you are more comforable, ask "Who are you and what can I do for you?" Now, you are not going to HEAR a response in a traditional meaning, but if you are open to it, you will pick up some type of clairvoyant message. There are big names for how you might pick something up--clairaudient, clairscentient, etc......which basically are sight, sound, touch, smell, or feel. For example, if you ask "Who are you?" and you immediately see in your mind a picture or a name or you "hear" a name or description--that is who is there. The same thing for "What can I do for you?" If you hear, "Tell Johnny I love him" and you KNOW who Johnny is, you have a message to deliver! It is unnerving to be surprised by things being moved or falling. What a wonderful message that your step-father had for you that Christmas! It WAS him and he was telling you all that he loved you, even from where he is now--that is the beautiful part of communicating with those who have passed. We no longer have them in the physical form but they are still around us. "Ghosts" can be scary but it is US that allow ourselves to BE scared by them. If someone jumps out at me--alive or dead--it scares the crap out of me and then our imaginations take over and well, it is all down hill from there! I can't remember--is your wedding ring still missing? If it is, ask (outloud or in your mind--they hear real well!) that you would like for your ring to be returned and it will show up before you move. Peace and blessings to you and your family!

i know of a place in utica (jeffersonville). it is called witch's castle. there was a little girl brutally murdered there by the witches that built it. it is said that if you drive past (very slowly) at night, sometimes you can still see her looking out the window.

also, a teen girl who went to hazelwood middle school, was taken there and beaten before she was murdered. there is spray paint on the wall inside the main house saying, "we love you shanda."

my friends and i have taken pictures in the house, and we saw some faces. two actually. and they were pretty freaky.

there is a hunted farm about two miles from jasper it is located on the east Schnellville road and is owned by the Merkley family every part of the farm is supposed to be haunted in the barn and grain shed you get the smell of a pipe and sometimes things will be picked up and thrown at people the ghosts don't like.In the old log house built in 1853 you will smell perfume and you can hear foot steps or you will hear loud knocking on the door. There is also a ghost of a little girl who will play with other children. She has long brown hair and is about 6 or 7 years old and looks like a real child and likes to make noise and keep everyone awake but will quiet down if asked. She is believed to have drowned in an old pond on the farm.in a field on top of a hill is where an old Indian village stood. Cars routinely hit deer's on a short stretch of black top road that runs along the farm before it gets to a factory on the same road.It is said the deer are spooked by the ghost of the Indians. Down by a bridge that crosses a creek on the farm there use to be an old water wheal mill.Two boy's drown crossing to the other side of the creek .and at night you can still hear them splashing around trying to get to the other side. Mr. Merkley will admit that things happen on the farm that he cant explain but wont say wether he believes in ghosts or not he will only say (I don't know what it is I have seen and heard things and have smelled perfume or pipe tobacco. But people would think us crazy if we said anything about what happens here or what we see so we don't say anything about it heck it might just be the weather or something I don't know? It never bothered me and if it is ghost's I figure they got as much right to be here as we have maybe more

Hi My Name is Sam I lived In New Albany for about A year In This house,It's about 200 years old.It's 1311 E Elm. It was renavated some but just enough to keep it together. I had some pretty weird experiences there. I lived on the top floor for about 4 months and had to move down a level because I was too creepy. It was my first night moving in and I was up pretty late, And I heard someone singing ring around the rosie in my kitchen which was at the top of the house and my boyfriend had already gone to sleep, It sounded like a childs voice. If you see the apartment you'd understand why I don't think It could have been a prank by anyone. I only saw the little girl once. I was outside looking up at my apartment and I saw her looking through the window, No one was in my apartment at that time.

So I moved down stairs after that. Then It got a little worse, I woke up one night and looked to my right and saw a man pouring a bucket of water into something that wasn't even there. The Other Instance was ,In my living room A man In suspenders and old fashion brown pants starts pacing my living room and walks right throught the wall.
It might be worth looking at. It sure scared the crap out of me.

ok hi this my first post ...wanna clear some things up here...im from columbus and NO the azailia bridge is not haunted by some teens on prom night,there are several legends surroundin this place ive heard but i what i found out through a little research( not all the way done yet) a young woman got banished from the town because she got pregnant out of wedlock and due to strict religion in the town she was a disgrace to her family and herself ..the bridge in azailia is where she stayed at and also after several days threw her baby off the bridge and was found later by a farmer plowing his field downstream.....alot of beliefs are that you can see the baby on the bridge crawling ,but really that would not be possible because 1. it was a newborn baby and 2.it was thrown off the bridge.....the womans( who ive not found the name for)body was found dead some time later and believed to be suicide
