Default My dog bit another dog

My dog bumrushed me at the door and bit a dog being walked by. The man walking the dog pulled a gun and threatend to shoot my dog. All this while trying to seperate the dogs. I get the citation, of course. His dog has one small puncture wound. Any advise?

The person took the situation way out of hand by threatening your dogs life with a gun. I would suggest talking to a lawyer or the police.

My advise would be to promptly apologize to the man and the poor dog. Pay his vet bill without being asked to and most of all CONTROL YOUR FRIGGING DOG. Thank your lucky stars he didn't shoot your dog. If he did it would be fully your fault. Forget about any lawsuit the courts are loaded down with too many frivolous lawsuits. If your dog had bit him instead of his dog he would have been within his rights to use his gun to protect himself.

Excuse me , no he had better be lucky he did not shoot anything due to the fact that where i live you discharge a firearm and you are not a l.e.o . you go to jail no if and's or butts about it . people need to learn to control their tempers . It happens it was an accident and all that happened was a small puncture wound get over it , but by all means do pay the hospital , vet bill so they dont take you to court .

So you are telling me that you can not defend yourself with a gun in Kentucky ? If that is true then I feel sorry for the poor suckers in Kentucky who let their lawmakers trash their rights.

My advise to you, is very similar to the advise from rickers. Control your dog, pay the guy's bills, and apologize. If another dog was charging at my dog, I promise you I would protect my property by any means necessary, up to and including use of a weapon. It is not about my temper; it is about PROTECTING MY DOG. He is a small guy, and would easily be injured or killed by much larger aggressive dogs, so if lethal force is needed to protect him, it will be used.

Be thankful your dog didn't attack a young child.

Oh, and as an insurance person, they could file a claim against your homeowners insurance policy - You probably don't want that, so you should probably apologize and make sure the dog is OK, and offer to pay the bills if you want
