Public transportation from chicago to Warsaw
Hi, I need to travel from Chicago,IL to Warsaw, IN for an interview, i am wondering about the public transportation available. Is there any train service or bus service available like Amtrak or Greyhound i could not find one. I would be returning back to chicago the same day. I don't have the choice driving my car. Pls advice
Thanks,

Here's what I suggest you do ... take the south shore train from Chicago (Millenium Station) to the South Bend airport and then rent a car and drive to Warsaw. Neither Amtrak nor Greyhound service Warsaw. The long shot would be that whatever company is interviewing you would send someone to pick you up and take you back to the train station ...

or you could get a cab from the South Bend Airport. If Cab service is available there.

But then he'd have to find a cab to take him back to the airport ... it would work out better by renting a car.

To my knowledge most cabs will wait for you if you ask them to do so. But you know how some cabbie are so maybe renting a car is a better idea

Any rough estimate, how much it would cost ? if i take a CAB from South bend airport to Warsaw
12 noon and back by 7pm same evening. CAB may have to wait for 4 hrs.

I have no idea. you might want to call up a cab service based in South Bend. I know there is one because just about every college town I can think of has a cab service for it. Sorry I cant think of any South Bend based cab services

I think it would be cheaper to rent a small car than keeping the meter running on a cab.
Job interviews are stressful enough without worrying about how much a taxi is going to cost.

Yea, no kidding. If you aren't confident in your skills, take a friend who can drive and wait for you in a rental car. Getting to and from the airport alone will probably cost you 75-100 bucks one way ... and then the waiting? I doubt cabbies would be willing to wait for an undisclosed period of time and whatever company you are interviewing for will probably think it's strange to see a cab waiting and then your focus won't be completely on the job interview ... this cabbie sitting out there waiting for you ticking away time and money will be in the back of your mind ... then the company will wonder how you'll get to work once you start ... see what I mean?
train it and then rent a car ... seriously. If you get the job, you'll have to drive anyway.
