Default Commute from Bloominton to Bedford

I have a possible job opportunity in Bedford, but would be more interested in living in Bloomington. I know it's roughly 25 miles away. How's the traffic in that area? About how long would it take to drive that...and is it ridiculous to even consider commuting from Bloomington? BTW I have to be at work at 6:30am, so not peak travel time if that makes any difference. TIA

I don't really know how the traffic in Bloomington is but I think a reasonable guess would be about 30 + or - 10 minutes.

Driving that same section during winter especially right after a winterstorm and the trucks havent been out yet. I would say around close to 45-55 minutes.

How's the weather in the winter? Do you get a lot of snow...or is it mostly ice storms? I'm from Upper MI so I'm no stranger to severe weather and I currently do a lot of driving in it.

Night Hawk. I live in the Southern part of Monroe County--midway between downtown Bloomington and Bedford. I can get to either downtown area in about 15-20 minutes. Exactly where you will live in B-ton and work in Bedford will determine how long it takes. Many people commute from Bedford to Bloomington. Far fewer do the reverse, but that is because there are more jobs in Bloomington.

Traffic---What traffic????? Sometimes there are more cars on the road, but never gridlock unless there is an accident. (I've seen it once in 8 years.) At that time of the morning it should be smooth going. Most of your drive will be on highway 37. It's typically one of the first roads treated in winter and typically one of the best treated. I've driven it in snow, ice, rain, sleet, thunderstorms, etc. When it's icy in winter I allow more time depending upon the conditions. Usually it's not because of the condition of 37, but the condition of the county and city roads.

Sometimes we get snow, sometimes ice storms. It varies greatly. We rarely get the kind of accumulation I imagine you see in the upper MI.
