My husband was just shy of 5 years old when those tornadoes hit the state, but he still remembers it vividly. He lived outside of Berne, IN at the time and there was some significant damage to the area. He also talks about the tornadoes that hit in April 1974 on the Super Outbreak. Xenia, OH was nearly wiped off the map because of that storm.
