Or if what you mean when people put looser... Then yeah, it makes me wonder.

Here's a good "you are a Hoosier if":
You are a Hoosier if you get choked up when you hear Jim Nabors sing "Back Home Again in Indiana" before the 500.
I know I do!

Moving from Indiana---to another state; the people in the state kept calling certain people "hoosiers" -----i asked what is a hoosier anyway---they quickly commented "white trash".

I think you all need to stop putting down us hoosiers!! I am PROUD to be a hoosier- I am not a graduate of IU, but I have lived in Indiana my whole life, and I am proud to say that I am a Hoosier. If you are really that sick of being a hoosier, my suggestion is that you MOVE somewhere out of Indiana!

That's right. Even though I grew up on the other side of the Atlantic and only lived in Indiana for a short time, I love Indiana and think that my fellow Hoosiers are some of the (if not the) finest people in the United States.

While attending grade school in Northern Indiana, I remember one of the potential origins of the word "Hoosier" being that someone had had his ear cut off, which prompted someone to ask, "Who's ear?"....could be an urban legend, but at least I learned something about history from my elementary school days.
