Evansville really shouldn't be a problem to find a job. New Harmony is a very small town where most jobs in the town pay just above minimum wage. New Harmony is very very nice, I would just expect you will have to commute to Evansville for your job.

DON'T OVERLOOK THE GE PLASTICS PLANT AT MOUNT VERNON. IT IS A HUGE PLACE ABOUT 20-25 MILES FROM EITHER NEW HARMONY OR EVANSVILLE. I DON'T KNOW WHAT KIND OF LAB TECH. YOU MEAN. BUT THE PLANT IS GOING TO SELL IN THE NEAR FUTURE AND I KNOW OF SOME THAT ARE GOING TO BE LEAVING.

I don't know if GE would be the best place to look right now for a job. A lot of people are worried about the job security at GE.

I would suggest Bristol Myers-Squibb. They own Mead Johnson, which makes all kinds of health and baby stuff (Enfamil formula for one). They seem to be a bit more stable at the present. They also have a plant on the west side of Evansville and just outside of Mt. Vernon.

Good luck.
