Fun Things to Do in Southern Indiana
Hi - I live in Prospect, KY and have friends from CA visiting. We are all middle-aged housewives who like historic towns, antiques, gardening, art, decorating, cooking, history and fun and interesting restaurants. I am taking everyone to Madison for a garden tour and Jeffersontown for antiquing.....any other interesting Indiana towns that are within an hour or so from Louisville that you could recommend? Thanks very much for your help.

There is a monestary just south of Jasper that is great. Can middle age ladies go thru the caves of southern Indiana?

Since you will be in Madison, don't forget the JFD Lanier mansion and the many other historic homes there.

Clifty Falls State Park is just outside Madison. It's not a town but it is a fun place to go. You can get some excellent views of the Ohio River/Indiana/Kentucky from there. Especially from the Tower

Abraham Lincolns childhood home outside of Santa Claus Indiana. And while you are there you can check out Holidayworld/Splashinsafari to see if that is someplace you may want to visit in the future. Have fun!

I think Capt. Dan mentioned a monastery ... you can actually get rooms there for the night ... St. meinrad. Lovely place.
