My mother lived there in the 50's and wants to move back. Is it somewhere nice to raise a family? I have a BS in Economics, would there be jobs? I can't find anything but basic info from their city's website.

I had to go through there once for work about 5-6 years ago, and the downtown, main-drag area was a ghost town. Otherwise, it looked like your standard rural Indiana farming town.

Clay City is mainly just a small quiet farming town. It is a great place to rasie a family with wholesome values. As for jobs their really isnt any jobs pretaining to economics in Clay City unless you work for the city. Other than that you should probably look at jobs in Terre Haute( 7 miles up IN 59 and then 15 miles west on IN 46)
