Default where to go 4th of July?

We moved to Bloomington, IN from Seattle at the end of last summer. We are trying to find out what there is to do on the 4th of July. Where in the midwest can we go for the best 4th of July celebration? Who has the best fireworks out here?

Indianapolis(downtown at Zoo/IUPUI campus) has the big 4th of July concert during the afternoon and a huge fireworks display at night.

Where would be the best place to view this Indianapolis display? Are the Zoo and IUPUI the only places, or can it be seen decently from other places in the city?

Highland Park just east of downtown has great views.

A good place to watch if you want to avoid traffic is at 10th and Delaware. I have watched them from there before, and zipped out of downtown via 65 without having to fight the traffic.

Check out the celebration in Linton. You could go there for the parade and Indianapolis for the fireworks.

Bloomington will have a parade, a concert or two and fireworks near the football stadium.
