Yea, I agree. The Fashion Mall is a very hoity toid place ... it's the way it was meant to be. SW, sorry you went through that ... shoulda gone to Castleton down the street. That's where I inhabited.

Does Indiana have the friendliest people in the country living there? Any why are they so friendly I wonder?
I have never found this statement to be true. I find the people of Indiana the most unfriendly people in the USA. We are heading there in a few weeks. Although, honestly, I can't speak for the whole state just the part we are heading to.

I just moved to Indianapolis, and I have been very impressed with how friendly and down-to-earth people are here. Having spent 25 years in Oregon, I would have to disagree with the person who said they found Oregon people to be friendlier. I think people in Oregon are much more reserved and aloof. Of course, Oregon is a big place, and most of my time was spent in the Portland area. And maybe my opinion of Indianapolis will change over time, but my first impression is that the people here are the friendliest of all the places I have lived.

That is exactly what I read someplace, Jillaceae, which is why I asked if anyone could site a study on the subject. I'm surprised nobody has popped in with some data on Indiana State friendliness. Maybe down the road...

Smile Oh!

Never been to OH or IN or OR
but anytime I've met anyone from OH, they are absolutely the friendliest folk!!!
And anytime I encounter someone super nice - sure enough, they're from OH!
And I don't mean talk to anyone friendly, or "fake" nice...
I mean truly pleasant!
I vote to rename OH "The Friendly State"!

I've had that same experience with Ohio, Indiana and definitely Pennsylvania people. I had plenty of Pennsylvania clients around NASA for years, and always enjoyed the heck out of them. I think this area of the country is just one that produces nice, stable people.

Think what you will, but Indiana is not on the map with friendliest cities. You may encounter some nice folks, but all around we never get into the top 25. People here don't tend to go above and beyond to be nice.
