Default Job relocation from Birmigham, Al to Carmel, IN

I recently accepted a new job in Carmel and do not have any idea as to where I will live. I have been to the city once for my interview and I like Westfield because is close to my new office and the schools are small and house prices are reasonable comparing with Carmel, and Zionsville. My family with appreciate any recommendations.

We are looking for the following things in a home:
-Great school system with less than 2000 student
-Quiet, low crime area
-Great access to Carmel

If I were moving to the northside area I would definitely consider Zionsville. Small town feel--close to Carmel, nice homes, good schools etc.

Pretty much all of the suburban northside of Indianapolis willl suffice. Also check out Fishers, Noblesville, Westfield, Arcadia, Zionsville and Brownsburg. The far noth side of Indianapolis north of 71st Streeet wouldnt be bad either.

The key factor is whether or not you want to budge on the less that 2K high school thing. Zionsville fits that bill, as does Westfield and Hamilton Heights (Arcadia), but Carmel is easily double that size and the 2 high schools in Fishers are at that point. Now, if you are talking about less than 2K total for the school system ... Hamilton Heights and Sheridan are about it with good access to Carmel.

I also hear Avon might fit that bill, its westside, but that is what I hear. I am relocating to Indianapolis as well. Although I am coming from Columbus, Ohio I am originally from Huntsville, Alabama.

Finally we are moving in September to Westfield and start building with Arbor Homes. I hope that I have made the best decision for my family.
