Default Need help with FtW living

My husband is considering a job in Auburn, Indiana. We are now in Detroit and like big city living with respect to where to live, eat, etc. We also have a young child (not school age). Can any one suggest good areas to rent an apartment to begin with so we are close to attractions for kids and adults alike. We like busy lifestyle, busy place.

Please help!

Moving this to the regular Indiana section .... Ft. Wayne is in NE Indiana, not NW Indiana.

There are a several apartments along the northside of fort Wayne. I lived in Fort Wayne for a few years - SW, but living on the northside will save 15-20 minutes on the commute each way.

here are a few

This gets very bad reviews, but it is in a nice area and is pretty new. Avalon at Northbrook Apartment Ratings, Reviews, Map, Rents, and other Fort Wayne apartments for rent from ApartmentRatings.com

From what I know this is where I would live if I I was to move back to fort Wayne

Closest to Auburn - right next to interstate.

There are probably a few newer ones that I don't know about.

Sorry to disappoint, but downtown Fort Wayne is lackluster. The scarcity of condos, retail, and foot traffic in the downtown area is quite evident. Fort Wayne prides itself on its suburban/family lifestyle, so there won't be much big-city living to enjoy. There are some developments to bring more people downtown, but they'll all take time. You should make a trip, if you hadn't already, to see how it's like. I'm new to Fort Wayne as well and wish there was more things to do in the city, but what can you do...

As for apartments, I would suggest Canterbury Green Apartments. It has a nice, healthy community of people, parks, and pools. There is also a new apartment community across the street that you should look at as well.
