Default Recommended areas to live near Warsaw

Hi Everyone,

I may be relocating with my work from the UK to Warsaw and wondered if anyone can give me some advice on the nicest area's to look at houses within a reasonable commute?

From the reseach I have done on-line, Plymouth seems to have a good reputation and looks like around a 30min commute?

My wife and I are in our late 20's have a 10 week old daughter so schools and activities to keep us busy will be quite important in our decision as our daughter grows.

I have little/no knowledge of the local areas and so any recommendations of nice ares to live near Warsaw would be a fantastic help & greatly appreciated.

Plymouth is a nice small town with good medium size schools. There are lakes around the area for recreation and it's located on the crossroads of US30 & US31, so you can easily get to South Bend in under an hour (Notre Dame is there), Indianapolis (the state capital), is a little over 2 hours away ... South Bend & Indianapolis are on US 31 btw. You can get to Chicago in about 2/2.5 hours via car, or take the South Shore Railroad from South Bend. You can also get to Fort Wayne in about an hour heading east on US 30. I think you'll like it in Plymouth. And not to make a joke, but Plymouth's mascot is a Pilgrim ..

You'll be in for some culture shock. I'm not sure about how large the UK expat population is ... be ready for some food shock, but you'll be fine. Work with your company. They should be able to help with the transitioning process. Have you visited yet?

I grew up in Bremen, close to both Plymouth and Warsaw and now live near Indianapolis.

I moved to Plymouth 3 years ago. I really like it here. I live close to US-31 and 6. There are some nice parks to take the little ones. I have a three year old so I think the school are good in this area. LaVille is a great school, I have also looked into some private schools in the area too. It's easy to get anywhere you want to go. I live on 5 acres in a country setting and can reach most major highways within minutes. All my shopping is within 5 to 20 minutes away. Watch out for the new highway being built i the area from South Bend 20 bypass south to Peru area. It is already going to affect where I live but I'm going to wait to see before I move. It will run near the exiting US 31. Make sure you ask about it when looking at houses. I hope this helps and if you want more info I will try to help.

Weird, I only thought US 31 was being upgraded inbetween Kokomo and Indianapolis. And of course, I was already aware that the Indiana Department of Transportation was soon gonna start construction of an eastern bypass of 31 in the Kokomo area.

Is Indiana planning to upgrade the WHOLE stretch between South Bend and Indianapolis into a freeway? Since if they are, I hope it doesn't change the character and uniqueness of the north-central Indiana area too much. Hope someone can post, to clarify what this poster was saying about proposed upgrades to US 31.

The entire thing Dumpstermac. Much much much needed ... especially around slo-komo. I think they are going to elimate all the lights (yea!!!) and have one and off ramps, similar to what they have for Rochester and Peru.

So I see they are upgrading the whole SB to Indy stretch of 31 to freeway status. Thanks for clearing me up there.

I also did some quick googling, and found this site about the proposed upgrades in the Plymouth-SB stretch, if anyone's curious(which I think on 2nd thought, would be a good idea):

I can't wait for 31 to be the freeway it was always intended to be. It will make the drive from Indy to SB easier to go see my Irish!
