Hope for Milan, IN
I have previously posted fairly harsh criticism for my area of the world. In recent months, my focus and that of my husband have changed. Before we were just thinking of places to move to. Now we hope to encourage and nurture a change and growth in the area, and we are staying to help that happen. So I wanted to say how happy we are that we have a town board who is interested in making Milan a thriving town again. We have so far to go, but a business is looking to locate its new plant in our area, which will mean millions in revenue for us-now and in the future. We desperately hope this means more work will come out our way and change our town to a great place to live, shop, entertain yourself and work.
So if there are any venture capitalists reading this forum, Milan is looking to grow. We have a state park 15 minutes from here, Cincinnati is about an hour east, we're nestled in an old-fashioned, rural area full of people ready to work and longing to blend the old with the new. I, myself, have dreams of opening a small business in town when I approach retirement, but the town will have to offer a lot more to potential vistors before my business could be profitable. This town is ready for change and improvement with an eye towards keeping the hometown charm alive. We can do this, and at last I've seen the beginnings of it all.
