Default Parke County Covered Bridges

I'm planning a trip to Indiana in October. I know that the Parke County Covered Bridges festival will be going on from the second Friday for 10 days. Should I avoid going during this time? I don't want to deal with crowds or traffic. I simply want to drive the loop route and take some pictures and explore on my own. Does the festival attract much traffic and crowds or would it be okay to make the drive during that time. I would be going during the middle of the week if that makes a difference.

What do you mean by the "loop route'? It has been many years since I've been there. It does attract quite a few people, especially on the weekend. I think if you plan on travelling during the week, you'll be fine.

During the week, as far as crowds go, you should be fine, even during the Covered Bridge Festival. It does bring a lot of people, but the bigger crowds will be on the weekends. It'll be beautiful, so I hope you enjoy it!

Cabe09, the loop refers to the 37, I think, covered bridges in Parke County for which the festival is named. They have dubbed the linking of them all "the loop" and have maps for those wanting to visit as many of them as possible.
