There is a test you can get. Sorry I have no idea what it is called. But they test levels in your system. My mother never had chicken pox and when she started working at a hospital, they had her tested. Since she was exposed to chicken pox as a child (although never actually got it) and was exposed to it when my siblings and I had it, the blood test she had done shows she has the traces of it in her system. Sorry I am not a medical person so I can not provide the proper lingo. But anyway, she has an immunity to it. Something to ask your doctor as it can be a real concern if you should contract chicken pox as an adult.

You can get a "titer" level drawn to see if you have immunity to certain things. I had to have a titer level drawn in the early 90s to see if I was immune to the measles. (I wasn't. My vaccine never took).

There is, but there is also going to be a priority to who can have it first. The latest I read is that pregnant women will be the first to get it, followed by healthcare workers. Not sure how the priority works after that, but my guess is that children will be the next in line. The CDC website probably would have all the information you could ever want on H1N1 flu.
Make sure you wash your hands, and practice excellent hygiene. Your best line of defense is to wash your hands!!!!!

Here is what I know regarding the vaccine in my area. IU will have a free vaccine available for students, faculty, staff, etc. sometime in Nov/Dec. They ordered 50,000 doses of the vaccine. Monroe County schools will also provide a free vaccine at a similar time for students, etc. The sister of a friend is a nurse that was asked to give the vaccine elsewhere in the state. SHE was not going to be able to get it though because she is older even though she is a healthcare worker.
