Red face House Warming Party???

My husband and I just moved accost country to be closer to family. Unfortunately we are still 2-2 1/2 hours away from everyone (sometimes more since they would have to drive through Chicago). We just bought a home and remodeling the kitchen and changing all the paint, lighting, etc.. My husbands’ uncles and cousins are coming over to help us with fixing up the house but I would still like to have a housewarming party once we are done with everything.

Would it be wrong to invite everyone over since it’s a long drive and so close to the holidays? How much notice should we give?

Our home will not be fully furnished since we can’t afford furniture right now (we are moving from a very small condo to a large house).

Please leave any tips or advice you might have. Thank you very much.

P.S. Also need info on invitin new neighbors. Thought it would be a great way to meet new people. How do you do this?

Also how to you make sure everyone know to not bring their pets (dogs) without hurting their fealings.
