Default Traffic infractions

Hi All.
I am an over the road truck driver from Wisconsin. This passed Sunday morning I was traveling east on us 20 west of south bend. I was issued a traffic ticket for following to close. Another vehical passed me moved over in front of me seen the officer coming towared us and hit his brakes. I immediatly moved into the left lane and met the offficer who was traveling in the other direction. He drove through the grass median and to my suprise pulled me over and said I was following the other vehical to closely. He stated that I was eggzactly 80 feet behind the other vehical and that I also didn't use my directional, which he also gave me a warning for improper lane change. I cannot even fined any info on indiana law pertaning to following to closely. On the citation it states ,
contrary to the form of the
8-2.1-24-18
cfmcsr
392.2fc
following to close
Everything I find relating to this is about federal motor carrier complinance to state and local laws. Nothing about this specific Law. Any help would be greatly appreciated , Since I am one that never follows to close intentionally.

The officers in Indiana are pretty particular about this recently. I know a driver who was told to watch how closely he was behind any car/truck. We've had some terrible accidents in the last five years in Indiana involving semi's and a number of them involved drivers who were following too closesly and unable to avoid an accident. I hate to say it but I don't see that you will get out of this one. You might try calling an Indiana State Police post and ask them the law.
