Greetings. I am trying to find a place to search obituaries from last November. I was told a friend of mine died from the phone number that I last had for him, but I want to make sure.
I tried the Madison Courier, but they require a subscription, and living in New England, that isn't my first choice for the moment.

Thanks

Jason

Try looking for funeral homes in the area the death occured in. Alot/most of Indianas funeral homes have websites that include search functions and lists of funerals going back a few months. Alternately, you could cold-call them saying "I was looking to print a copy of so-and-so's memorial page but can't seem to find it/your website and I was told you handled the arrangements?" politely as possible. It might take a few calls but usually works.

I have a couple of suggestions. First, call the paper directly. If you explain what you are looking for and then give them your location, you will probably find a nice person would will be able to help you out, especially since your request will likely be a one shot deal and that you are not from the area.

The other suggestion I have is the local public library. They will have a subscription to the website and will probably be able to fax or email you what you need.

Good luck!
