I'm not sold on Kelly. Yes, he's won everywhere he's been but against a lower level of competition. He's winning right now at a school that had next to no expectations for its program, that won't be the case at ND. Winning like he has at Cincinnati is a bonus, at ND it will pretty much be a necessity. He's never had to deal with the kind of scrutiny that he'll have to deal with at ND. He's improved Cincinnati's recruiting but it's still well below the level that ND has come to expect. I don't believe he's been noted as being a good national recruiter and ND needs a coach that can recruit coast to coast. His offense is great but his defenses have been lacking. The offense hasn't been nearly as big a problem at ND as the defense so how does that get fixed?

I just think there are too many unknowns. That isn't the case with Stoops and that's why I favor him over Kelly.

he should. it's time. Stoops has been at OU long enough.

Does anyone remember when Cincinnati's basketball team got really really good, really really fast and then the controversy that ensued with Bob Huggins??? This is very reminiscent. Kelly already has red flags attached to him over his controversial tenure at CMU ... with the players killing someone and Kelly making excuses for their behavior .. nope, this is not what ND should get. They may as well keep Charlie.

Controversy and scandal always seem to pop up. ND has been pretty fortunate in that regard.

Can Mrs. Stoops sell enough Mary Kay in Indiana to make the move worth her while?

I'm sure something can be arranged! The rumormill is saying it's between Kelly and Stoops.

I would have my wife pledge to buy Mary Kay for the next 20 years if that would help bring Bob Stoops to ND.

I'm a Michigan fan, so I love Charlie Weis, but if ND has to replace him, I don't see why they wouldn't take plenty of time and choose the best available candidate, instead of just grabbing the first big name that says yes.

Bob Stoops is known for his inability to win big games. Do you guys really want him at ND? Also, would Stoops leave a great job at Oklahoma to coach somewhere that will be a big project for him?

Here we go again. Another close and exciting game last night and the Irish were never out of it by any means.

Swarbrick denied talking with any other coaches about a possible change. Maybe he'll decide to keep Charlie on for one (1) more year or maybe Stoops will fly into South Bend to shout "I want the job and will restore the glory!"

Rumor has it that Charlie packed up his office after the navy game.

Charlie managed to get them to the surface from the hole that Ty dug them into. I'll give him that much. But he's not a closer and that's really sad.

Swarbrick hasn't talked to anyone .. ND has their minions to do that initially. Rumor is that Stoops is in SB right now. Can you imagine the media at the airport???

I hope that any coaching change is quick and seamless. I'll be waiting for white smoke to billow from the Golden Dome.
