Fun things to do in Indiana?
What is there to do in Indiana and Indy for fun? I grew up there but there just didn't seem to be much to do except basketball and the 500 (which I'm not interested in). I've lived around the country and Europe and just unsure what types of things are available to me and my family. All ideas would be sooo helpful.

In Santa Claus, there Holiday World. Monticello there is Indiana beach. Fun spot is somewhere, it's pretty cruddy though. There are the sand dunes, in Porter. In Brown county they have lots of hiking trails, camping and you can even go to the caves. I want to do that this summer sometime.
That's some of the things I can think of right now!

The exotic feline rescue center and Wolf park are in Indiana. Both are animal rescue reserves. Lincoln's boyhood home is in southern Indiana and is, from what I hear, pretty neat.

Yes, The lincoln boyhood home and the Lincoln State Park are pretty neat and also just a hop, skip, and jump from Santa Claus and Holiday World. There is Lake Rudolph campground in Santa Claus if you like camping. Also in the general vicinity is St. Meinrad Arch Abbey that is beautiful in it's self. You could make a nice weekend in the area.

Indianapolis: Zoo, Children's Museum, Victory Park (Indians Baseball), Circle Center Mall, White River Park, Indiana State Fair (mid-late August), Art Museum, Circle Monument, Conseco Fieldhouse events, Murat Theater
Indiana: Dunes, Holiday World, a lot of towns have festivals that take place in the summer/fall over various weekends (Rockville Covered Bridge Festival is one of my favorites), Brown County (Nashville), Conner Prairie Historic Settlement, Indiana Transportation Museum's train excursions http://www.itm.org/events.htm

The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo at Franke Park is one of the best children's zoo in the country! I would highly recommend it.
Holiday World is fun too, especially the Splashin' Safari water park.
Go the Indiana visitor's site, and you will find lots of things to do in Indiana.

wow! There seems to be so much more to to in Indiana than I remembered! I lived in Ft. Wayne as a little kid and remember Franke park and the zoo. Love the coney dogs at the Weiner stand restaurant. Ronzu and I have talked about that place!
