My wife is moving to Michiana region in January. She will be working at Notre Dame. We are looking for an apartment in a safe neighborhood that is close to grocery stores. We are currently thinking about Indian Lakes apartments in Mishawaka and Spring Lakes Apartments in Granger (Just of 23). I was wondering if anyone can comment about any of these apartment complexes or suggest another one in the area.

What's your lifestyle like? That would help greatly in pointing you in the right direction?
If you like the nightlife I would recommend the 100 Center Aptartments. Lot's of clubs there, a Hacienda Mexican restaurant, and a very nice riverwalk at your back door. Cheap too.

If your the stay at home kinda people but like to shop I would say Castle Point by UP mall because it is cheap and close to shopping and the new Martins supermarket.

Thanks jc76.

We are more stay at home kinda people. I did look at Castle Point but did not like it much. Any idea about Indian Lakes (Mishawaka) or Spring Lake (Granger)

I think you'd be happier in Granger. It's quieter and a very nice and safe suburb. I can't give you any first hand knowledge of the apartment complexes, I'm just comparing the towns.
