I'm almost certain the Brain sandwich is doing well in Evansville.

Reading these posts are fun. I haven't lived there in over 30 years but grew up just south of Ft. Wayne and went to Purdue (GO Boilermakers!) and still have fond memories which include:
-the county 4-H fair, this was the highlight of the summer, a chance to run around with friends
-like others have said, basketball, where any team could be state champ, as in Hoosiers. I went to a farming community school, K-12 in one building, and as a 6th grader remember taking the pep bus and running around Ft. Wayne at the Regionals one year between games.
-ice skating on the pond in the winter
-the "Palm Sunday tornadoes", I think that was 1965. It didn't hit our farm, but to the southern end of our county and to the north. I remember scavenging in our field with my dad and finding papers flown in from 30+ miles away along with a large 4x8 sheet of plywood, plus seeing the damage that a tornado can do in hitting a lumber yard south of us, and taking off the tops of all the trees in the woods near the lumberyard.

I miss Indiana Beach. It's an amusement park on Lake Shafer in Monticello,IN. I used to live there until the tornado in 74 took my families home, then we moved to a small town called Covington. It was a smaller communtity school although going to school there made us kids all so close. I also miss Monical's Pizza. We don't have that in Kentucky.

My memories include heading to the Indy 500 and stopping to pick up beer on the way. Only to find out we couldn't buy beer since it was Sunday. So instead of taking out own beer into the track we had to pay $6 a can for beer at the concession stand.

I haven't lived here too many years but, my favorite things about Indiana are:

The many festivals that each town seems to have in the Fall.
Cool evenings setting by a campfire making "smores" and cooking chili over an open flame.
The people are, for the most part, friendly.
Traffic, at least here in Southern Indiana isn't bad at all.

I could think of many more if I tried.

I remember a place we used to go long ago in Angola. Buck Lake Ranch, it was like a amusement park, country western shows, picnics, fishing, boat rides, a little bit of everything. Hadn't thought of it in years. Search you tube, and theres a great video of it!
