Smile New to IN and looking for some good swimming holes, beaches, ponds, etc.

Hi! My Family and I just moved to Warren County, IN about two months ago and we're looking for a good place to swim (not a pool) nearby. So far we've only been to Wildcat Creek by Lafayette, which I liked because there wasn't a huge crowd and the kids and I just mostly waded around. My husband didn't like it as much because it wasn't really deep enough to swim, at least where we were. Anyway, any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Default Also interested!

I'm also interested in getting more info regarding this!

Also any info with regards to how the fishing is around the Lafayette area.

I'll be moving my family out that way towards the end of August and have 5 and 6 year old boys that we *really* need to keep busy.

Many Thanks,

Glenn

You shouldn't be that far from Eagle Creek Park in nothwest Indianapolis.
Doesn't Williamsport have the highest waterfall in Indiana. I don't know if there is swimming there.
Post a note on Illinois' boards and ask if there is a beach at the lake in Danville just across the border.

Hi! Did you try some cool state parks? Turkey Run has a place where you can canoe, but it's not too deep. Have you considered Indiana State Park in Porter/Chesterton area? State revamped a dunes park along Lake Michigan. Beautiful trails and you can swim in the Lake. You park so close that you can sit in your car and watch the sunset. Clean place to camp too! (electric) Also, there's alot of National Lakeshore along Lake Michigan. Beautiful dunes along the Lake, and safe. They have closed off some, but some you can walk on the boardwalk. Cheap and fun for the kids! Try the National Parks Website.
