Does anyone know of any fencing clubs here in Indy? I found one a few years ago but the yearly dues were around $800 for an individual.

Any help would be appreciated.

I run a fencing club on the west side of Indianapolis, out in Jamestown. Our class dues are $6.00 per class. For beginners, I teach foil, French grip. More advanced students study all three weapons. Some of the more advanced are competing in USFA tournaments.

Domergurl, one bad thing about the one in Jamestown is that the starting age is 9. That leaves my youngest out since he's only 6, but I think me and my oldest son are going to do it.

The same place also offers Judo, and I did not see a starting age

BTW, the Judo training is in downtown Indianapolis at the main GMAU headquarters building.

GMAU has about 15 programs going on around the Indianapolis area, primarily focused on Karate (or, more specifically, based in Okinawan Shuri-Ryu), but also Boxing, MMA, Haikido, and Judo.

See www.gmau.com for more details.

I used to start the fencing program at 8 years old, but found that too many kids did not have the wrist strength to hold a sword properly, so I moved it to 9 years old.
