Hi everyone!

My family(2 girls ages 9 and 5, and husband, myself)are originally from Northeast Indiana(Steuben Co)and have family in South Bend area also. We made a rash decision to move away over a year ago for a job my husband was offered near Dallas, TX and we hate it here! I miss Indiana more than I ever thought possible It is possible that my husband will be offered a position in Carmel on City Center St.

We are looking for a small town feel where we can purchase a home on a larger subdivision lot or country lot, good schools, and friendly people. Our budget for our new home would be up to $180,000. Commute for my husband preferrably less than 30 minutes since he works rotating shifts and being close to I69 would be great to visit extended family.

What are all your recommendations?

Pendleton Town of Pendleton, Indiana

OR

Noblesville City of Noblesville, Indiana / Homepage

Noblesville would offer an easier commute to Carmel. Pendleton may offer quicker access to I-69 and a quicker shot towards NE Indiana.

Good luck.

Thanks grmasterb! I hadn't thought of Pendleton. Does Pendleton and Noblesbillehave the nice quaint downtown area like Zionsville?
Also.....would Brownsburg be what we are looking for and is it too long of a commute??

Yes, both have the quaint downtowns. Not sure about Brownsburg. I didn't consider it because it doesn't offer easy access to I-69.

I can't comment on Pendleton, but Noblesville does. Brownsburg and Pendleton wouldn't be awful commutes to Carmel, but they would both be fairly long. I would guess a little over half an hour.
