Default Fletcher Ave area

I'm considering a move closer to town and noticed some rental houses or apartments in houses on Fletcher Ave. to the east of S. College but west of I-65.

I did my crime research on MAPS — Law Enforcement Map Viewer — and crime seems low for that area.

It's odd though that going east on Fletcher from S. East St there are many nice homes also many just east of college than in the short block before you cross over I-65 there are four five rentals in homes that don't see completely cared for.

Can anyone add light to this neighborhood area beyond my research?

Thanks in advance.
Happy holidays everyone.

It's a "up and coming area", so I would expect some crime, but I think it is actually moving "up" faster than a lot of up and coming areas. (Plus it helps that it is so close to Lily.) There are a lot of new businesses going in around there, and a lot of recent development. Personally, we've considered the area for buying a home. I'd rather live in Fletcher Place than Fountain Square- I think it is a little nicer at the moment. Knowing a few people from the neighborhood, there is a fairly strong community and a big push to improve the area.

(Plus, you can visit my favorite coffee place, Calvin Fletcher's! They are a community-oriented not-for-profit! And they have good coffee.)

I don't think Fletcher between College and 65 qualifies as "up and coming."

Once you go east across 65 you are in Fountain Square, which would qualify as an "up and coming" area.
