I have to agree with Msamham
Franklin township is a very nice community.
There are not many places that you will be able to find a home where there is not traffic in indianapolis Franklin township as well. Hamilton county Carmel etc is the ultimate pits for traffic, castleton as well. Plan on an hour trip to downtown in rush hour. Dont let anyone tell you different.
Stay away from the near east side and west sides (to about 3 miles out) unless you like to see shootings drug use and crime.
Perry township on the south east side of the township is nice as well.
You can find a nice porperty in Johnson County close to the indy border. All areas have grown very fast in the last 5 years. Taxes are going up high.
Spend a week in Indy and visit the areas before you make your decision

Are you still looking for a place? I happen to know of one that is off the market because the owners had to relocate and didn't want to list it while gone. They are getting ready to get it on the market, for either sell or lease. It's a 4bdrm with a basement in Carmel/Westfield.
