Meant to type "Yet another reason to hire a professional who makes it a part of their everyday practice to keep up on the local inventory of modernist homes - those currently on the market and some which may come on in the future."

Good luck!

It doesn't have to be a newer built home, I have seen alot of neat 1960s modern homes. Somewhere near the 230k range is fine.
mmmadaras: The image you linked to is a contemporary home in the style of "Dwell" magazine. There are some examples of this style of home locally, and nearly all have been built within the last 5-7 years by their current occupants. They range in price from $120k to well over $500k. A few are in the $1M+ range.

In the budget you're talking about, it may be possible to build something new. There are some hurdles to overcome - the price of land where you want to live, your square footage requirements, final finish material choices, etc - but if we can get all of your expectations set up front, it might be quite possible to build to your liking. I'm happy to discuss the specifics of that process with you in person if you're up to it.

(Just an FYI: I helped design & build the first LEED-certified home in Marion County, and am passionate about modernism in all its forms - from architecture to industrial design, and from typography to landscaping.)

Good luck!

Ooooohhhh, love it. I live in C-bus and am training to be a tour Guide at the Miller House. Crazy-good stuff.

Welcome to the forum Joe. You'll want to review the terms of service for realtors though:

just a heads up.

Yeah, Joe is new here, I told him he needed to come read this thread, as he is the agent I was referring to earlier... but I forgot to tell him all the rules.

Thanks for inviting him though! Love his stuff and bookmarked his page.
