Looking For a Veterinarian and a Dentist
Hopefully, two separate people!
Seriously, I recently moved to Indy and I am wondering if anybody has any recommendations on (1) veterinarians and (2) dentists. I don't really mind driving out-of-the-way if it's worth it. I do live near the Broad Ripple area, but again location is not a deal-breaker.
Thanks in advance,
Ric

It took me 10 years to find a great dentist...and I was thrilled that I finally found one a year ago.
Indy Dental Group
12720 Meeting House Rd
Carmel, IN 46032-7334
This is the group fronted by Dr. Jack Miller (former Indy car driver and his race car is actually suspended from the ceiling of the waiting room.) His wife Dr. Lewis is absolutely top notch; she has major skills. Very plush office with friendly and helpful office staff. We go there for dental and orthodontics. The occasional visit to West Clay (where their office is) is a treat too. They do submit insurance work for you and that is one thing my last great dentist did not do (Spees...Zionsville, great dentist but you do you own paperwork.) Indy Dental Group has an office on North Meridian also, but not nearly as nice. The Meeting House Road location is very uplifting place.

I've been going to the same dentist since I've had teeth--Dr Bratton in Carmel. He's semi-retired, and the practice is now run Dr Keith Alvarez, who I like very much as well. They've always taken very good care of me, and the receptionist/secretary is fantastic and very friendly. More info here: Alvarez Dentistry - About the Doc (broken link)
The vet I used to go to when I had dogs is Companion Animal Hospital, also in Carmel. They were wonderful, and offer reasonable boarding as well: Companion Animal Hospital and Clinic of Carmel, Indiana
Good luck!

I have been going to the same office thru all their moves for 25 years and could not be more pleased. Drs Green and Klooser in Fishers on Cumberland off 116th. Advanced technology, proff. staff, well oiled machine.
For vets, I have used Pet Pals, Dr. Rick Arnold for over 25 years. He is careful, compassionate and will explain thing thouroughly. Office is at Westfield and 86th or so. Behind a Greek restaurant on the east side of Westfield.
I live downtown and gladly drive to each for the service provided.
For eyes, I use Ossip in Broad Ripple. Love them.
A good family doctor in Broad Ripple is Dr. Janice Bilby. Her office is right behind Einsteins Bagels.
I know how it is to try and find a good professional. Check out Angie's List for a way to grade a whole lot of professionals. They may have other suggestions.

i haven't lived in indy for a few years now, but i have suggestions for both, both of whom i miss dearly!
dentist; michael gradeless (i believe his office is in carmel). excellent dentist and wonderful staff. he really has a passion for what he does and it is evident in his work.
vet: in broadripple, at the broadripple animal clinic (if she is still there)...emily king. she was my family's vet in south bend and moved to indy about the same time i did, which was great. their office is a bit high priced, but definitely worth it.

When we lived in Fishers, we loved the Log Cabin Animal Hosptial on Fall Creek and Brooks School Road.

Great new Dental office in Fishers!
Hi, I am the office manager of an excellent new practice located in Fishers at the corner of 116th Street and Olio. He is an amazing dentist, very friendly and will only suggest work that needs to be done. He's very conscience of how much the work costs and will work with the patient to give them the best care. Our office accepts most major dental insurance companies and will file the claims to the insurance companies on your behalf. Please give me a call at 317.348.1354 if you'd like to set up an appointment!

I have been using the same vet for 25 years. He is the owner of Pet Pals hospital at 86th and Westfield Blvd. Great guy, Dr. Rick Arnold. Just did a thorough workup on our oldest cat at our request to make sure he was well and healthy enough for a dental cleaning. He is a believer in a complete explanation and making sure you know all the options. Doesnt push product or services.
he is nice enough to come to our house every year to give all our 5 cats their shots and an exam.

Dr Lande 9699 North Michigan Road (stay away from him)
I don't know a good one. I have been treated at Indy Dental Group but at the meridian street facility and it was OK but not great.
More importantly I can tell you STAY AWAY FROM DR LANDE in North Michigan Rd. He is very rude. From the moment you get there treats you badly. He (and not his secretary) starts complaining about the insurance companies and really does a great effort to make you leave. I am Hispanic so I think he is a little bit of a racist too. I got questions such as "you just moved here right?". He treated me like an ilegal brown Alien who was not going to be able to pay for his services (I got great dental insurance though and certainly have no problems to pay a dentist bill). He was so surprised when he found out that I am actually a physician and I have been living in Indy for more than 6 years. I left anyway. No way I would let him put his dirty hands in my mouth.
