I doubt that a lot of major corporations will look to move their headquarters here. And besides, is that really want we need long-term? IMO, the economic focus should be on creating a climate that encourages the formation and growth of home-grown businesses, not throwing costly tax incentives at out-of-state corporations to move here.

Just because Indianapolis and most of Marion County merged in 1970 doesn't make it a major city. Its all about the metro area and by that yardstick its a medium sized city (and only 34th in the country).

It normally becomes about metro area when the city isn't large like Cincy or Cleveland.

Given that the OMB has defined about 367 MSAs, that puts Indianapolis in the top 10 percent in terms of size. I'd say that's major.

ya and another thing i dont get is why are SF liberals coming here and saying they are larger. SF lost its ability to pass Indy in city size after it decided to use the rest of the avaiable land as parks and go down the Insanity liberalism path. Its one thing to be a Liberal its another thing to be a SF insane Liberal.

Now now broad, they can come here just like we can go there and post. It's freedom of speech and SF is a great city.

True lol but i just get sick of people arguing over city sizes over metros. If we wanted to have a metro comparison the title would be Indy metro passed Detroit etc. Indy is the 12th largest city in the US rather you like it or not

San Fransisco is insane because they chose to put parks in their city? Could you explain that one to me?
