Carmel schools are VERY good. The city itself is awesome! It is more expensive to live here but it is very nice clean low crime and everything is fairly new. Most homes are well over 300k and go up in the millions, but you pay for the great schools and nice area. we love it

Carmel is an awesome city!!! We have excellent schools, new developments, any type of store you can possibly want is usually within 10 min from your home or my home anyway. The schools here are ranked in the top of the state. Yes it costs some money to live here, but it is well worth it

I agree with almost everything here except for the price ranges on the homes. I feel that in Carmel you can find homes anywhere from 130K all the way up into the millions. There are plenty of smaller ranches that are easily just around 200K. Of course, right down the street you will have the mcmansions making you feel itsy bitsy

Carmel is acedemically outstanding, as well as athletically. My mom and step-dad were both educators there until they recently retired, and they were proud to be a part of that school system.
But yes, it is becoming ridiculously big.

Doesn't splitting the high school come up every year? my feeling is that it will happen soon just because the boom in the population shows no sign of slowing down. The Elementary schools are excellent but getting a bit cramped too. My son attended Carmel Elementary (The best school ever!) and the fifth grade was in trailers out back! I think there's going to be major rehauling of the school buildings or zoning to accomodate for the increased number of young families in the area. Its going to be a fight though. Last year when Carmel Elementary tried to rezone its district parents were up in arms and the whole thing got swept under the rug.

If Carmel splits their high school, then I'm a monkey's uncle. It will NEVER happen.

We used to live in Carmel (Springmill Crossing)and my neighbor actually told me, "We had arrived".
I LOVED bringing my horses home from the boarding stable in Zionsville and giving them baths in the front yard to irritate the neighbors. I was not a very good Carmel housewife. Plus I lived in jeans and sweatshirts. I was a travesty.

I get a chuckle out of my 2 grand-daughters, who live in Fishers, and their "Carmel" attitudes.
The younger one plays soccer for a Carmel team and when she acts a bit snooty or obstinate, the older one will put her hand on her hip and say, "we can't all be Carmel girls!"
Those 2 have a running gun battle about Carmel and Fishers. I just look on in amazement.

That's funny...I grew up in Carmel and now live in Fishers...and the communities couldn't be MORE similar. They're just making fun of themselves.
