You get what you pay for. If you don't want to pay, then you don't get. Carmel had something similar and the voters voted for it; oh well.

This is exactly what I said. We hoosiers frequently choose to keep money in our pocket instead of wanting services offered to us. That was my original point, which you just made for me.

Yep yep, I'll rep that but FT is funny, they won't allow big industry in to help offset its tax base. I can understand the whole congestion, pollution wanting to keep that small town feel to it but you have to have a breaking point some where. There's so much open land out there to where you can have big industry and it still be off in the corner by itself and you wouldn't even notice it.

I think you're overstating the case. In my opinion, as a long-time suburban commuter, 465 is generally in better shape than the city streets after a 6-inch snowstorm. Of course, the city doesn't clear freeways.

I struggle to think of what folks in other states are getting in terms of services that we don't.

As for the Franklin Township situation, let's see how it shakes out. I suspect that voters thought the district was bluffing. This may come up for a vote again.

It's more than a matter of getting 6 inches, it's how fast those 6 inches comes down. If it comes too fast, no city is equipped to handle that and by johnny on the spot. It takes time, plus highways are done by INDOT and not DPW. My personal favorite is when you've dug yourself out of your driveway and the plow comes by and re traps you. I hate that.

There have been times where we get 3-6 inches of snow on a Wednesday afternoon, and Thursday morning only 2 lanes of 465 on the east side are passable, and sporadically at that. The ramps are frequently in worse shape. It is as if the state is waiting for daylight to help with melting before getting serious about cleaning the highway. I-70 eastbound between the north split and 465 is often even worse.

I've driven the splits for 10 years and outside of the big snow storms we've gotten, it's been pretty clear. Do you expect the roads to be perfectly dry?

No, but I do expect there to be more than one passable lane and the state could at least pretend it wants to clean the ramp from 70 east to 465 north on the east side. If the freeways looked like that in Michigan, someone would be fired.

A good example is the fact that now Indianapolis is the 2nd largest city in the midwest and detroit drops to 4th.
Also Toxic i probably wouldn't find more than a handful of Indiana people now living in Chicago cause of how expensive and cruel the taxes are.
I moved from Detroit to Indy about 20 years ago. Now, I am moving to Chicago.

There's a double whammy for you.
