Default Are We Ready for Super Bowl 46?

Was reading some curious articles and people were asking that question. What do you guys think are we ready for the Super Bowl in about 150 days. If not what do you think we should do to improve the experience for the fans and make sure we leave a good image on our city.

I personally know that the construction has to be done by feb and Pan AM Plaza better be fixed by then.

I have been wondering if everything is going to be done on time myself.

Ever have a job where everything is a mess, completely unorganized, the workplace is filthy, nasty, disgusting.....But then Corporate announces they are coming for a visit so everybody puts on their big fake smiles and the whole company spends the entire week just cleaning and making everything look artificially nice for the big wigs?

Thats all Indy is doing, and it is costing us alot of money.

What messy stuff do you think could be fixed in Indy? The Abandoned housing stock is being targeted.

They are cleaning up alot of the ghetto areas near down town (putting lipstick on a pig).

As soon as the Super Bowl comes and goes, they will forget all about these areas again and they will go back to how they were before.

thats BS. I seen some of those areas myself as i have said before depending on if Kennedy Defeats Ballard this November 8th (Highly unlikely now that Kennedy is resorting to Trash Talking and negative ads which means she is probably behind) Ill be running for Mayor of Indianapolis in 2019. That is a major issue the other Mayors just seem to ignore. How can i get to Downtown Indy if its surrounded by a ghetto area? its like the shell is ugly but the core is beautiful. Our City has so much potential especially since we host large events/our centralized location as the crossroads of America. The Political games need to end I am sick and tired of it and so is everyone else.
Our city has to much at steak for our future to just sit idling along.

I agree that his comment is BS, but I don't see evidence that Kennedy winning would stop all of the progress. I would think that improving schools and mass transit (although I haven't seen her advocate for it) would help these areas substantially.

i am not saying Indy would become Detroit from Kennedy except that knowing how democrats are usually once they get into office they leave some sort of a mess for the next incumbent to clean up.
Indy has a more diverse economy and its the state capital.
I am for developing Indy's Mass Transit i realize its critical for our cities future however just jacking up taxes then blowing it on Mass Transit that isn't used is something i will not allow. If we have to pay for it best approach would be raise Cigarette/Alcohol Taxes in the 9 county Metro region use that money to *Build* The Mass Transit rail lines THEN have the Fares Pay for atleast 75% of the Maintenance and upkeep cost. That way the city never has to bailout the system and i hope not everyone drinks and smokes so health would also improve in our area.
The Rail Lines we need to put up at this point in time are from The Airport and West Side Suburbs and the Carmel/Fishers area. Carmel/Fishers need it the most.

Instead of rail lines, they should have just expanded 69 all the way downtown via Binford Blvd some 40 or 50 years ago. Carmel/Fishers is where the bulk of the growth in the metro area is and there is no direct interstate access from there to downtown. You either have to go 70 E to 465 (which has VERY heavy traffic during peak times) or use city roads. Think how much better the north side commutes would be if 69 had been expanded all the way to downtown?

Oh well, too late now.

Instead of sitting in traffic around I-465 and I-70 on the east side, all these people would just be sitting in traffic around the north split. All three interstates would have converged at that one location, causing a massive back-up. You would just trade one gridlocked area for another.
