Are they ever opening again? Seems like they all closed their doors overnight. If you drive by them you cant even tell they are closed, except for the fact that the parking lot will be empty.

I miss Popeyes! Anybody know what happened to them? I know you can still get Popeyes at the TA at 130 on 65 but I live on the eastside.

If memory serves, the gentlemen that owned the franchises in Indianapolis owed a lot of money in back taxes, to the tune of millions, and went belly up.

I thought the problem was solved I've seen a few of them re-open over the past few months.

According to this article from last September:

There is still a Popeye's in Whitestown operated by a different franchisee. Popeye's hoped to sell the franchise rigths to someone else. It's been six months, maybe they found someone.
