Yeah, but why?

We all get annoyed at his constant boosterism too, but the last thing we'd want to do is add fuel to the fire.

Nothing I've seen calls for high rises for Midtown (North of 16th-38th). With Winona gone, ICM is gearing up to redevelop the site which does include some form of housing because they have to by law. There were talks of a small sculpture park around the area and office space, more than likely nothing that would take away the prominence of the museum itself. Other than that IVY Tech is renovating the old St. V hospital right there at Fall Creek so that will definitely add some good foot traffic to the area with Fall Creek Place just due East, great looking neighborhood now.

For me good infill for downtown really consists of Capital, Illinois, Penn and Delaware south of the 65 overpass beginning right around 10th st heading south toward the center. Then South at around Kentucky Avenue heading north. That would create a nice circle around the core of downtown.

The East end North of Ohio and East of New Jersey is pretty much all housing now with the exception of Mass Ave heading all the way up through the old north side which is good, but not adding much height anywhere in there.

Are you talking about current proposals? If so, then yes, there isn't anything of note right now--but the Regional Center plan definitely acknowledges some sort of high intensity development in that area in the next 20-30 years.
