I think this is pretty much true amongst all tech support centers though. I am reminded of the time my mother in law spent 4 weeks and 3 different crews to fix the network they destroyed while moving it. I went over there and fixed the whole thing, and even added a computer in 1.5 hours. I really dont even bother with them any more, if I dont know something myself, Ill find somebody with internet access, and find the answer on the web.

The most ironic and sad thing is, most of these people working these tech jobs have some sort of degree or certification in computers or IT, and I just dabble in it on the side.

I am in the middle of switching to Direct TV, anybody is going to be an improvement over COMCAST.
right now I am kind of stuck with Comcast even though their high speed digital service which I pay a premium for is less than high speed at times.

I called their Tech Support in Ann Arbor, Michigan who performed an online check of my Comcast modem and he said "There is something wrong with it and the slowness problem is on Comcast's end. " A technician came out a few days later and he couldn't find a problem. When I mentioned that the Tech Support person in Ann Arbor found a problem, he responded "He can only see so much and can't see everything. There is no problem."

I just wanted to rubber stamp my "AMEN" on the whole "Comcast Tech Support Sucks" thing going on here. But they are not the worst, SBC, Ameritech, or AT&T (whatever they are called now) is the worst...I had a 3 week battle with them on getting new DSL service installed a few yrs back. One of the goons actually killed my phone line (shich was working fine) trying to get the DSL to work, and then left...on a FRI!!!!! When I noticed the problem I quickly called (form my cell) and they said they would be back out on Mon to fix the ph line that THEY screwed up....after displaying a side of me that I dont like to let out much I got their emergency service to come out the next morning on a SAT. to fix their mistake, but that was no where near the end of the battle.

I ended up canceling the order and going with comcast...at least it worked. I have Insight now, and have not had any problems, but at the begining of the yr comcast is taking over

Default AT&T is good to go

I recently switched from the horrible mega downer comcast to AT&T. They now offer fiber optic high speed internet and cable. If you can get this service in your area you should do it. Their new customer service is great, and I never had an outage(its been almost two years). The cable package is amazing, and the picture is HD comparable without having and HD compatable TV. I just bought a house in the Nora area and can't get the service yet, so I have none. I have had terrible experiences with both comcast and brighthouse. Between the two, I would choose comcast. I can't wait for the day when I can choose between Verizon bundles and AT&T.
